A picture is worth a thousand words, and multimedia is worth ten times more

At Evoke Multimedia we’re all about telling stories and eliciting a response. You’ve heard the adage that a picture is worth a thousand words, right? For good reason; approximately 60% of us are visual learners. This is why multimedia has such an impact.

Having spent 17 years in high tech public relations helping companies craft their written communications, if given the option of reading a thousand words on a company’s web site, or watching/hearing about them in a short, informative and entertaining medium, I’m going to take the latter every time. And you know what, I’m going to remember that company and I’m going to click through to find out more about them.

One of the best examples of this is in a FedEx clip where I learned about their involvement in saving sea turtle hatchlings from imminent doom by donating transportation services to move the eggs over land and to the other coast of Florida. I was completely hooked by the story and have developed an affinity to the company that I otherwise would not have. And at the end of the day, that’s what all organizations are trying to do – communicate with a target audience in a way that evokes a response.

Tori and I truly believe this multimedia mode of communication is the wave of the future and we’re excited to apply our business, communications and creative expertise to help organizations break through the clutter and engage their visitors.
